Abstract.

The problem of determining the arc cohesion at interaction between the conveyor belt and lined drum is considered. In the study, it was assumed that the belt and the lined drum under deformation followed the Hooke’s law, and the force of friction between the belt and the lining followed the Kulon’s law. Besides, a thin boundary layer is formed on the belt, near with zone where belt coheres with the lined drum, with no tensile stress. The problem is solved by means of the L. Prandtl’s asymptotic method. The obtained findings were compared with the results of the studies conducted by N.E. Zhukovsky and V.I. Mossakovsky.
