Аnnotation.

Further development of outer space researches puts on the agenda issues concerning not only scientific study of outer space, but also use of its resources in the economic activities of mankind. Institutional support of the outer space economics assumes creation of new or reorganization of existing structures of the space industry, as well as steps undertaken for personnel training in order to provide organizational support for the activities of these structures. This approach is conditioned by the latest requirements of the European integration processes and coordination of the world community efforts in terms of economic component of the outer space exploration. Ukraine has gained good potential for such works, which, in addition, are the part of its national interests aimed at improving of economy, rise in the standards of living and growth in prosperity of the population. In the article, a concept of “economics of outer space” and its components are analyzed, key factors for substantiating the economic component of outer space exploration are presented, and sphere of interests of Ukraine’s national and economic security in the field of outer space is described. Proposals on improving national legislation for the space industry are presented. The place of cosmic interests in the multilevel and multidimensional modern world economic system is determined, as well as which and how minerals can be mined in the extraterrestrial objects and economic feasibility of such jobs. Support of the rocket and space industry by the Ukrainian government and interest of private companies in financing economic development of outer space are analyzed. It is noted that one of the important aspects of this development is reduction in the cost of space flights and their accessibility to the wide range of specialists including development of space tourism. It is concluded that further development of outer space researches in Ukraine needs private investments, and that with rational investment from the national budget, significant profitability of the outer space exploration can be achieved within a short period of time.

Keywords: outer space economics, national interests, interests in outer space, outer space resources, efficiency.
