Abstract.

On SE «UK «Krasnolymanska», in obedience to the program development of miningn works in 2018, for preparation of a 1 south face of over-discharge part of seam l3 conducting of vent drift of a 1 south face of slope №1 of over-discharge part of seam l3   is foreseen.  In the article, issues of the safe preparatory roadway driving by tunneling machines of selective action at the opening of prone-to-outburst flat and slightly inclined coal seams and rocks are considered. Results of the performed studies and field experiments aimed at substantiating and developing technologies for the safe roadway driving by the tunneling machines in the prone-to-outburst rocks, for opening and crossing prone-to-outburst coal seams with further roadway driving away from the site of opening are presented. In addition, the main technological features of excavations carried out by these machines are analyzed.

Specificity of acoustic forecasting of the outburst hazard and promising proposals on development and improvement of methods for forecasting outburst hazard during the seam opening are considered.

Much attention in the article is given to the problems of opening and crossing the prone-to-outburst coal seams and prone-to-outburst sandstones by the tunneling machines of selective action in the Pokrovsk-Dobropillya district of Donbass, namely in the mining-and-geological conditions of the Krasnolimanskaya Mine. In particular, opening of the prone-to-outburst seam by a combined method with the use of tunneling machine and drilling and blasting operations is considered and analyzed in detail. Before opening of the prone-to-outburst coal seam l3 in the southern lava 1 of the slope No. 1 with the ventilation drift, the seam was mined by tunneling machine till the stake PK 5 + 8.8, then it was mined by drilling and blasting method, and, after passing the stake PC 5 + 17, again by tunneling machine. No manifestations of gas-dynamic phenomenon were detected.

Thus, experience of successful dissection of prone-to-outburst coal seam  by  stope of vent drift of 1th south face of  in over-discharge part of mine  «Krasnolymanskaya»  by combined by  harvester  and drilling and blasting  method.

Key words: opening, prone-to-outburst, coal seam, tunneling machine, safety.
