WATER FILM USED FOR RESCUER PROTECTION AGAINST POWERFUL THERMAL RADIATION

UDC 614.895.5:621.5

Language: Ukrainian

Abstract. The article deals with the process of forming, by spray water jet, a movable water film on the surface of the rescuer's thermal protective cloth. Under simplified geometry (vertical flat surface), the authors conducted theoretical analysis of film motion under the influence of gravity and its heating due to thermal radiation of the infrared range, which is typical for seats of fires.

Coefficient of radiant heat flux pass through the spray jet and water film is determined as well as its dependence on basic physical and technical parameters. Numerical calculations were fulfilled, and diagrams of dependences were built, which made it possible to formulate recommendations on rational values for some technical parameters.

Keywords: thermal clothing, thermal radiation, spray water, water film.
