Annotation.

Practice of using terms for describing various concepts always somehow differs in details from the definition set by the standards. Most divergences are related to the national law-making resulting in creating of different terminology in different normative documents. Use of different, but close by sense words in the terms formed by combination of several words makes difference in terminology literal and complicates communication. Some of difficulties of making a unified terminology are explained by the fact that the same words used in different professional spheres present different connotations specific for concrete sphere of activity. Therefore, it is necessary to arrange all variety of terms and concepts described by them in such a way as to provide an adequate professional communication by grammatically-correct technical Ukrainian language. All of this in full degree relates to terminology of theory of risks, safety and accident rate in the mining and building industry. An unique operating in Ukraine normative document interpreting values of one or another term exactly in this area, is DSTU ISO Guide 73:2013 «Management by the risks. Dictionary of terms», answering international norms, but small volume. DSTU 2293-2014 “Labour Protection. Terms and determinations of basic concepts», also small on volume, is oriented exceptionally to the questions of management by a labour protection. All of the existing normative documents contain the chapter «Terms and Definitions of Concepts», in which the authors try to make interpretation of terms maximally close to specificity of sphere, where the document is used. The terms understanding is hampered by translation from and into Ukrainian of technical terms, which, additionally to specific features of national word-formation, depends on national legislation and traditions of using the language structures. Therefore, unification of terminology in the risk-oriented approaches to the labour protection and accident rate in the mines and build industry is an urgent necessity. In the article, some examples of the subject-oriented interpretation of some terms of this theoretical and practical sphere are shown, which can be useful for specialists with this specialization.
